Balasore: Several dead fish have been found floating in the Sona river near Patripal and Ganipur panchayats in Remuna block of Odisha’s Balasore district in the last two days.
Residents of these two panchayats say the fish died after some criminals dumped pesticides in the river. They said the water had turned dark from the effect of pesticides.
On being informed, senior officials of the Fisheries Department visited the panchayat and collected water and dead fish samples for testing.
