As per preliminary information, the sick students were taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Soro after they complained of stomach ache and nausea. It was alleged that a dead lizard was found in the food served to the students of the school.

The incident took place at Udayanarayan Nodal School at Sirapur. The students were served rice and curry in the mid-day meal when one of them claimed that he spotted a lizard in his food.

As panic gripped the students, the school authorities immediately stopped serving the food and asked everyone not to consume the food anymore.
