Debasish Mohanty Appointed To BCCI Junior Selection Committee

Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators  on Friday appointed head coach of Odisha Ranji team and former Indian pacer Debashish Mohanty as a member of BCCI junior selection committee.

He replaced former teammate and fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad, who had resigned as chief selector on March 2.

Mohanty was picked from three shortlisted cricketers, including Sujit Somasundar and Zakaria Zuffri.

The other members in the selection committee are Ashish Kapoor, Rakesh Parikh, Gyanendra Pandey and Amit Sharma.

The development came after the apex court restored the number of members in each selection committee from three to five members on August 9.
