Bhubaneswar: All households, commercial establishments or buildings and streets will have an unique digital number. This will be made possible under a new initiative under 5T Governance Mantra.
A meeting to discuss modalities for digital door and street numbering in ULBs was held here on Friday.
The numbering will enable a smart address, every house/shop will have a bar code on plate that will be affixed for easier navigation to any particular location or household thus leveraging services in all urban areas.
GIS Consortium, New Delhi has been engaged in implementing this and the field survey for it will start in August with a deadline to complete it in December in all urban areas. Implementation of the entire work is targeted to be completed by July next year, said speakers at the meeting.
Director Municipal Administration, Financial Advisor, Joint Secretary and other senior officers of the Housing and Urban Development department addressed the meeting. Deputy Commissioners and Executive Officers of ULBs participated in the meeting with their respective teams.
