Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Capital denizens woke up to overcast skies and heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms on Tuesday morning as the deep depression crossed North Andhra Pradesh coast close to Kakinada with a wind speed of 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph.
Several districts of Odisha are likely to witness heavy rainfall under the impact of deep depression formed over West-central Bay of Bengal, the Regional Meteorological Department here said on Tuesday.
It has forecast moderate rain or thundershower at some places with one or two spells of intense rainfall in Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Ganjam.
Similarly, thundershower warning has also been issued for Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh till 10.30 am.
