Bhubaneswar: The Deep Depression over northwest Chhattisgarh and adjoining northeast Madhya Pradesh and southeast Uttar Pradesh moved west-northwestwards during the past 6 hours with a speed of 13 kmph and weakened into a depression at 5.30 am, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
It would continue to move west-northwestwards across north Madhya Pradesh and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area during the next 24 hours.
Notably, the IMD had issued orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur and Bargarh till 8.30 am on Sunday. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) was also likely at isolated places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Nabarangpur Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati during this period.
There is no further heavy rain warning for Odisha, thereafter.
Notably, the deep depression over Bay of Bengal crossed the coast of Digha in West Bengal between 7 pm and 8 pm on Friday bringing more rains to the state.
