Bhubaneswar: The deep depression over Gangetic West Bengal, which triggered heavy downpour over Odisha for last three days, weakened into a depression on Wednesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the deep depression moved westwards with a speed of 20 kmph, weakened into a depression over Jharkhand and lay centred at 5.30 pm about 20 km west-southwest of Ranchi.
It is likely to maintain the intensity of depression till August 3 morning and weaken into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area thereafter. It is likely to move west-northwestwards towards northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southeast Uttar Pradesh across north Chhattisgarh during next 12 hours.
The intensity of the ongoing rainfall across Odisha is likely to decrease from tomorrow, as per the IMD.
Yellow warning has been issued for only three districts of Odisha for tomorrow.
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh, the IMD forecasted and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
