Mumbai: Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh on Thursday confirmed that they are expecting their first child together with an adorable Instagram post.
Her delivery is due in September 2024.
Deepika & Ranveer shared a picture with the words “September 2024” surrounded with cute motifs of pink and blue baby clothes, shoes and balloons.
There had been speculation about the pregnancy since Deepika made her appearance at the BAFTA awards in a saree and hid her midriff. The two, however, maintained silence. A source had then told The Week that Deepika is currently in her second trimester and is expected to make the official announcement soon.
Deepika and Ranveer met on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’. They got married in November 2018 after dating for five years.
Warm congratulations and heartfelt wishes poured in from Bollywood celebrities for Deepika and Ranveer in the comments section. Her Chhapaak co-star Vikrant Massey, who recently became a father himself, wrote, “Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen.” Sonakshi Sinha wrote, “Your best production yet.” Singer Shreya Ghoshal wrote, “So happy for you both”.
“Congratulations,” wrote Kriti Sanon and Sonam Kapoor. Varun Dhawan shared a series of hearts.
