Mumbai: After creating a buzz for demanding fixed working hours, Deepika Padukone seems to be in great demand.
Soon after her exit from ‘Spirit’ and ‘Kalki’ sequel, the actress was roped in for Atlee’s ‘AA22xA6’ with Allu Arjun and Shah Rukh Khan’s highly-anticipated ‘King’.
Now, reports suggest that Deepika is also being considered for the female lead’s role opposite Vicky Kaushal in Amar Kaushik’s mythological drama ‘Mahavtar’.
If the actress agrees to sign the film, fans will see a fresh pairing as Deepika and Vicky have never worked together.
â
The team has been looking for someone who can bring gravitas and emotional depth to the role written opposite Parashurama. Deepika fits that space perfectly. Conversations have begun, but they are still at an early stage. She is among the top names the studio has engaged with,â a source was quoted as saying by Mid-Day.
The report suggested that as âMahavatarâ is based on Parashurama, the destroyer of evil on Earth, the female lead in the film will also have a strong character.
âAmar Kaushik has been clear from the beginning that the character must have equal footing in the narrative,â the source added.
Earlier, it was reported that both the filmmaker and the lead actor will be quitting non-vegetarian food and alcohol before shooting begins.
Vicky will next be seen in âLove and Warâ, along with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
On the personal front, Vicky embraced fatherhood as he and wife Katrina Kaif welcomed their first child, a boy, on November 7.
