Bhubaneswar: Fuming at the expulsion of senior BJD leader Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi from the party on Sunday, his wife Sujata Panigrahi sought a clarification on the charges framed against him.
“What has hurt me more is that the party supremo has expelled my husband for indulging in anti-people activities. This is for the first time in the history of politics that a leader has been expelled on the charge of anti-people activities. Whatever the corruption charges framed against him will be known in the course of the investigation. I request the Chief Minister to clarify what are these anti-people activities,” she told mediapersons here.
She further said that her husband is not new to politics. “My husband has been in active politics since 2000 and judging his political acumen, the Chief Minister had chosen as his nominee for his home constituency Hinjili.”
Asked whether she feels there is a threat to her family as her husband has opened a Pandora’s box, she said there is no question of feeling insecure. “My husband has not done anything wrong for which he should feel insecure,” she pointed out.
