New Delhi: A fortnight before the national Capital hosts the high-profile G20 Summit, walls of several metro railway stations across Delhi were found defaced with pro-Khalistan graffiti on Sunday.

Slogans like ‘Delhi Banega Khalistan’ and ‘Khalistan Referendum Zindabad’ were sprayed in black on the walls of stations such as Punjabi Bagh, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar and Maharaja Surajmal Stadium in west Delhi.

According to Delhi Police, activists of banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) were seen at a number of metro stations, and wrote these pro-Khalistan slogans.

SFJ also released footage of walls of multiple metro stations being defaced with pro-Khalistan graffiti, police informed.

SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu said in the video that a ‘Khalistan referendum’ will be held in Canada on September 10, the second day of G20 summit in Delhi.

The metro stations apart, anti-India graffiti was found on the wall of Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, a government school in Nangloi.

All the graffiti sprayed across the city has been removed subsequently, according to the DCP (Metro).

Delhi Police’s Special Cell is probing the matter. CCTV footage is being thoroughly scanned to identify those who wrote the graffiti and arrest them as soon as possible.
