Panjim: In a midnight scare, a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Goa’s Dabolim airport after fire erupted in the aircraft’s left engine late on Sunday.
All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Among the passengers on board were state’s Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral, Agriculture Director and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Environment minister, according to a report published in News18.
According to reports, smoke was detected in the plane’s left engine soon after it took off from the airport. Following which, the pilot decided for an emergency landing.
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause behind the fire.
