New Delhi: Skipper Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant hit half-centuries as Delhi Daredevils defeated Rajasthan Royals by four runs by D/L method in the rain-hit match at Ferozshah Kotla on Thursday.
Delhi bundled up a score of 151 runs in 12 overs as rain restricted play to 18 overs a side. Rajasthan’s Jos Buttler made things easy for the visitors, as he smashed 67 from just 26 balls. He was supported by D’Arcy Short (44 off 24). Buttler’s antics were stopped by Amit Mishra, who stumped him with a top spinner.
Trent Boult also took a couple of wickets, and defended 15 euns in the last over to keep Delhi’s chances alive. He took quick wickets of Sanju Samson (3) and Ben Stokes.
Brief Scores: Delhi Daredevils 196/6 (Rishabh Pant 69, Shreyas Iyer 50, Prithvi Shaw 47; Jaydev Unadkat 3/46)
Rajasthan Royals 146/5 (Jos Buttler 67, D’Arcy Short 44; Trent Boult 2/26) by 4 runs by D/L method.
