New Delhi: In a consolation prize of sorts, Delhi Daredevils on Friday upset Chennai Super Kings with a 34-run win in Indian Premier League match here. This is their fourth win from 13 matches.
Batting first, the hosts led by Vijay Shankar’s unbeaten knock of 36 off 29 balls and Harshal Patel (36* off 16) scripted Daredevils’ win as they put on board 162 runs at the loss of five wickets.
The batting display was later followed by bowling attack by Amit Mishra (2/20) and Sandeep Lamichhane who restricted CSK to 128 for six.
With the win, Delhi Daredevils, who are already eliminated from the play-offs have just one more game left. For CSK, it is their fifth loss in 13 matches.
