Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Tests Positive For COVID-19

New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday with high fever, tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Jain had tested negative earlier, but the result of his second test confirmed that he had contracted coronavirus.

It was thus a double blow for the Aam Aadmi Party as Atishi, its MLA from Kalkaji, had tested positive earlier in the day. She has gone into home quarantine.

Jain was reportedly present at a high-level meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday to discuss the surge in COVID-19 cases in Delhi. The meeting was also attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and other officials.
