New Delhi: A 38-year-old man died after he was beaten with bricks by a group of boys when he tried to save his son.
The incident took place on Friday night in Sanjay Colony area, Okhla Phase Two.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Hanif, worked as a porter. His two minor sons were injured in the clash, police said.
It was around 11 pm on Friday when Hanif’s 14-year-old son went outside to get his bike which was parked on the road. Four-five boys were sitting on the bike and blocking his way. When he asked them to move, they refused.
An argument was followed by a brawl. Hearing the commotion, Hanif went out to check and saw his son being attacked by the boys. As he tried to help his son, the boys turned on him and started beating him with bricks.
An eyewitness called police who reached the spot and took Hanif to AIIMS trauma centre. However, doctors declared him dead.
Police are on the lookout for the accused.
