Delhi Police Picks Up IT Professional From Bhubaneswar Over Govt Website Hacking

Bhubaneswar: A team from Delhi Police picked up an IT professional after conducting raid at an apartment in Laxmi Sagar area of Odisha capital over alleged hacking of a government website.

The accused, identified as Prabhat Patra, was picked up from a flat in Laxmi Sagar area after a midnight operation conducted on Friday by the Delhi Police team.

According to reports, Prabhat is a software professional and was operating an office in Bhubaneswar. It was alleged that Prabhat was involved in hacking a government website.

The swift operation was conducted with the help of Laxmi Sagar police. The police recovered a computer and mobile phone from the flat which are being verified for confirmation of cybercrime.

While the IT professional has been detained for interrogation, exact information is yet to be shared by the police regarding the case.

It may be noted here that cases of cybercrime have been rising significantly in Odisha and recent incidents have emerged as a major challenge for the police in the state.
