Mussoorie: A 27-year-old techie, on vacation with her husband, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a homestay in Mussoorie.

She has been identified as P Radha Gayatri, a resident of Kidwai Nagar East in Delhi, who worked at an IT firm in Gurugram.

Gayatri had arrived at the Kiana Homestay Tipridhar, on the Mussoorie-Dhanolti Road, late Sunday night with her husband, Soumya Sricharan, who is also an IT professional based in Pune, the police said on Tuesday.

The Mussoorie police received information about an unresponsive woman at the homestay on Monday morning, as reported by PTI.

An ambulance was rushed to the spot and

a paramedic travelling on it pronounced Gayatri dead.

The couple had travelled from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13, before checking into a room named “Bliss” at the homestay around 11.30 pm the next night, initial inquiry has revealed.
Sricharan told the police that he and his wife had alcohol after checking in and finally went to sleep around 3.30 am on Monday. He woke up a few hours later and found his wife unresponsive in a puddle of urine with blood oozing from her nose, he claimed.

Both Sricharan and Gayatri originally belonged to Visakhapatnam and had got married on November 8, 2025.

“The body of the deceased was found on the floor without clothes, and bloodstains were observed on the bedsheet. Two empty liquor bottles and food items were recovered from the room,” the police said in a statement.

The body was sent to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun for a post-mortem. The autopsy be conducted by a panel of doctors, under camera, the police have requested.

Gayatri’s parents have been informed about the death and they are expected to arrive from Visakhapatnam late on Tuesday, Circle Officer Manoj Aswal told the news agency.

“We have sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Things will become clear only after the post-mortem report is received,” he said.
