Bhubaneswar: A delivery boy of an e-commerce company, Flipkart, has been arrested here for allegedly stealing laptop and mobile phone worth lakhs of rupees.
He has been identified as Dharmendra Jena, a resident of Sabar Sahi in Rasulgarh.
According to police sources, he used to order mobile phones and laptop as a customer and later return those, claiming that the products delivered were different from the orders placed, but by replacing them with soap packets.
Jena had also lodged a complaint at the Flipkart’s office in Mancheswar alleging that a parcel containing soaps and other items, instead of a laptop, was delivered to his address.
Sensing foul play, a senior official of the e-commerce company lodged a complaint with police, which began an investigation and arrested Jena. “A new laptop and iPhone were seized from his possession. Further investigation is on,” a police officer added.
