New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari on Monday slammed the ongoing probe by the Crime Branch into the murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Kisore Das.
Raising the issue in Lok Sabha, Pujari said: “He was shot dead by a policeman on January 29. He was the MLA of my Parliamentary Constituency and we studied together in college 40 years ago. Even though 15 days have passed, the Crime Branch is yet to reveal the exact motive behind the murder,” he said.
He further said that the Odisha government is taking the Centre’s help for conducting the Narco analysis and polygraph test of the accused but is hesitant to hand over the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
“Nothing will emerge out of the Crime Branch investigation. A CBI probe can only help to ascertain the reason behind the policeman pulling the trigger on the minister. Hence, I request the Union Government for a CBI probe,” Pujari added.
