New Delhi: The Democratic Party nominated leader Joe Biden as the party’s presidential candidate for the elections due in November 2020.
Biden, who had earlier sought presidency twice, has now officially challenged incumbent President Donald Trump. He called this the “honour of his life”.
“It is the honor of my life to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States of America,” Biden tweeted.
It was on the second day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) that the nomination came which witnessed several past and present Democratic leaders and speakers supporting Biden’s candidature.
“Thank you all, it means the world to me and my family – and I’ll see you on Thursday!” Biden said in a live webcast following the completion of the vote.
