Cuttack: After Bhubaneswar, dengue has spread its tentacle in the Millenium City. The infected tally touched 31 on Saturday with eight more being added to the list in the last 24 hours.
“Contact tracing of all the infected persons have been done. A few of the identified dengue patients have a Bhubaneswar link.” Health Officer of Cuttack Municipal Corporation Satyabrata Mohapatra said.
He further informed that a special ward has been set up at the SCB Medical College and Hospital for the treatment of dengue patients.
Meanwhile, a massive awareness campaign is being carried out by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) across several places of the city. Households are being sensitised to keep their surroundings clean, not to keep any unwanted pots and tyres in the garden, and rooftop.
Bhubaneswar had reported 505 dengue cases till Friday evening. The city has been battling the outbreak of vector-borne disease amid the COVID crisis.
