Dense Fog Disrupts Life In Odisha; Visibility Drops To 30-Metre In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Normal life was disrupted in different parts of Odisha, including state capital Bhubaneswar, as dense fog severely reduced visibility on Tuesday morning.

While visibility dropped to 30 meters in Bhubaneswar as well as Cuttack, several districts also encountered foggy conditions, which severely affected transportation and daily activities, sources said.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had already issued yellow warning about dense fog in many parts of the state. condition for Kendrapara, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri,  The affected districts included Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal.

Visibility dropped drastically in many areas, with some locations reporting less than 50 meters of visibility, making travel challenging. Drivers were seen navigating roads cautiously to avoid accidents, and traffic moved at a snail’s pace in several places.

The thick fog disrupted normal routines as people struggled to commute to work and other destinations.

The weather agency has predicted that several districts in the state are likely to experience dense fog on Wednesday morning also.
