Bhubaneswar: A thick fog engulfed Odisha’s twin cities in the early hours of Monday resulting in a drop in visibility to as low as 30-40 metres.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar witnessed the maximum fog density.
Due to poor visibility, air traffic at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) was affected and the arrival of IndiGo flights from Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, AirAsia flights from Kolkata and AirFrance from Delhi To Bhubaneswar were delayed.
Meanwhile, the departure of IndiGo flights to Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, was also delayed from Bhubaneswar airport.
Notably, the MeT office had predicted a gradual rise in night temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius and no significant change thereafter.
Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Kendrapada, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
