Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are likely to be enveloped by dense fog over the next two days amid rising day temperature in some areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.
In a weather bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said there will be no major change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 4 to 5 days in the state.
As per the weather agency, the mercury rose at several places in the state as four stations recorded maximum (day) temperature above 35 degree Celsius in last 24 hours.
Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district recorded the highest maximum temperature of 35.6 degree C. The maximum temperature was 35.2 degree C at Jharsuguda, 35.1 degree C at Sonepur and 35 degree C at Balangir.
The weather agency predicted dense fog in several parts of the state in the next two days. Yellow warning for dense fog has also been issued for some districts.
Shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal districts in next 24 hours.
Similarly, dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal during the period and IMD has issues yellow warning for these districts.
Yellow Warning for dense fog was also issued for some places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khurda, and Ganjam between Monday and Tuesday morning.
Likewise, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Ganjam on Tuesday and Wednesday.
