Bhubaneswar: Dense fog, which disrupted normal life in many parts of Odisha in last few days, is likely to engulf several areas for the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
In a weather bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar also stated that no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) is expected to take place during next 4-5 days in the state.
The weather agency issued yellow warning for dense fog for several districts for two days. Dense fog is likely to occur in districts like Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal up to Sunday morning.
Similarly, shallow to moderate fog is likely to prevail during early morning hours at a few places over these districts, as well as in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sonepur.
It predicted dense fog at one or two places over Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts on Monday morning.
Likewise, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati and at one or two places over the district of Bhadrak, it said.
People have been advised to take necessary precautions while travelling during the early morning hours due to reduced visibility.
