Bhubaneswar: The prevailing cold conditions are likely to abate in Odisha as the temperature is set to rise across the state after 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
In a bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said dense fog is expected to engulf several parts of the state for the next three days. Issuing yellow warning, it said dense to very dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, and Khurda in the next 24 hours.
Simiarly, shallow to moderate fog may occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Khurda and at one or two places of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi during the period.
The weather agency said dense to very dense fog may occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, and Khurda from Wednesday to Thursday.
There will be no significant change in the minimum (night) temperature in the state for 24 hours. However, night temperature is expected to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the subsequent four days.
