Bhubaneswar: Dense fog is likely to engulf Odisha again from January 15, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
Though there will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 2 days, it will gradually fall by 2-3°C from January 16, it added.
According to the IMD’s mid-day bulletin, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir and Gajapati between 8.30 am of January 17 and 8.30 am on January 18. Yellow warning has been issued for this period.
It has also forecast shallow to moderate fog on the previous two days. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh between 8.30 am of January 15 and 8.30 am on January 16.
Similarly, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal and Sonepur will experience shallow to moderate fog between 8.30 am of January 16 and 8.30 am on January 17.
While the state is likely to witness light to moderate rain till 8.30 am on January 16, the MeT office has issued yellow warning (thunderstorm with lightning, hail and heavy rain) at one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Boudh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Angul till 8.30 am on January 14.
Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput during the subsequent 24 hours.
Weather will remain dry thereafter, it added.
