Dense Fog Warning Continues For 3 Days In Odisha; Chill To Subside After 2 Days

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience the chilly weather conditions for another two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.

In the last 24 hours, G Udayagiri was the coldest place in the state at 4 degree Celsius, followed by Semiliguda in Koraput (4.9), Phulbani (7), Rourkela (7.2), Jharsuguda (7.7), Daringbadi (9), Kirei in Sundargarh (9.3), Chiplima in Sambalpur (9.8) and Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi (9.9). Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 13.2 degree Celsius and 13.5 degree Celsius respectively, as against 13.8 degree Celsius and 14 degree Celsius the previous night.

According to the midday bulletin, the night temperature is unlikely to witness any large change during the next two days, and then rise by 2-4 degree Celsius during the subsequent 3 days.

The weather agency has also issued dense fog warning for three days. Thick blanket of fog may engulf one or two places in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada and Kandhamal till January 22 morning. There is also a dense fog warning for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati during the subsequent 24 hours.

Shallow to moderate fog may alsoi occur at a few places in the early morning hours in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada and Kandhamal districts on January 21; South Coastal Odisha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada and Kandhamal on January 22; and Coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Keonjhargarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal on January 23.
