Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has predicted foggy weather and issued a yellow warning for nine Odisha districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Jajpur on Wednesday.
Basing on the IMD report, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) office has issued an advisory for controlled plying of vehicles due to the dense fog forecast in a bid to avoid road accidents due to very low visibility on the highways.
As per the IMD bulletin, the highest maximum temperature of 31 degree C was recorded at Sundargarh and the lowest of 10 degrees was recorded at Phulbani.
Meanwhile, IMD’s Bhubaneswar Met Centre Director HR Biswas said the temperature in Odisha is likely to gradually increase from January 24 as there are chances of change in the wind pattern around January 25. He stated that this would happen as there are chances of easterly wind entering Odisha.
From tomorrow the north-westerly dry wind is likely to penetrate into Odisha. Due to this, temperature will fall 3 to 4 degrees in interior Odisha and 2 to 3 degrees in coastal parts, he said and added that dry weather will prevail in the next five days.
Biswas said Wednesday morning minimum temperature for Bhubaneswar city was 18.6 degree C which was above normal. “There will be clear sky in the city but there are chances of shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours,” he added
