Dense Fog Warning For Odisha Up To Jan 2, Temp To Rise By 2-3°C After 3 Days

Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha continued to remain under the grip of intense cold wave, dense fog is likely to engulf several parts of the state over the next five days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in the state for the next three days. No large change is expected to take place in minimum temperature during the next three days, it said.

However, after three days, there is possibility of gradual rise in minimum temperature by two to three degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.

As the state continued to reel under biting cold wave, the mini

mum temperature dropped below ten degrees Celsius in at least 13 places on Sunday morning.

G Udayagiri, the hill station in Kandhamal district, turned out to be the coldest place in the state recording a minimum temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Daringbadi and Phulbani, also in Kandhamal, shivered in intense cold with the mercury dropping to 6 degrees Celsius at both places.

Meanwhile, the weather agency issued dense fog warning in many parts of the state over up to the morning of January 2. The IMD has issued a yellow warning of dense fog for several districts during this period.

Dense fog is likely to occur during early hours/morning hours at isolated pockets in districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal & Nayagarh by Monday morning.

Similarly, dense fog may occur during early hours/morning hours at isolated pockets in districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal & Nayagarh by the morning of December 30.
