Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Ranji Trophy captain Subhranshu Senapati has found a place in the 15-member East Zone squad for the (50-over) Deodhar Trophy to be held at Puducherry July 24 to August 3.
Tarani Sa, another Odisha cricketer, has been named as a stand-by.
Jharkhand’s Saurabh Tiwary has been named skipper of East Zone, while Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran will be his deputy.
Six zonal teams will feature in the tournament, which will be played in round-robin format followed by the final between the top two.
East Zone will open their campaign against Central Zone on July 24.
Their other matches are against — North East Zone (July 26), North Zone (July 28), South Zone (July 30) and West Zone (August 1).
