Bhubaneswar: The depression over westcentral Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression.
As per the latest report of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday, the depression has moved nearly northwards with a speed of 17 kmph during past 6 hours. It has intensified into a deep depression and lay centered over the same region near latitude 16.2°N and longitude 86.4°E, about 450 km south of Paradip in Odisha at 5.30 pm.
The deep depression is likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm during next 24 hours. It is likely to move nearly northwards till morning of October 23, then north-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong on the evening of October 25 as a deep depression, the weather bulletin stated.
