Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo inaugurated a newly constructed 33/11 KV power grid in Balangir district on Friday.
Built at a cost of Rs 5 crore near Jhulenbar village under Patnagarh block of the district, the power grid will supply high-quality electricity to around 5,000 domestic consumers in 30 villages under six gram panchayats. Besides, around 400 lift irrigation consumers and a large number of farmers will benefit from grid.
Speaking at a function organised on the occasion, Singhdeo said 24×7 quality power supply would bring a trnsformation in the lifestyle of the people in the area.
“The grid work, which was started in 2018, is now completed. With this, the long-standing demand of the people of the six panchayats in Patnagarh has been fulfilled,” he said.
Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singhdeo and district collector Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar were among others present in the programme.
