Bhubaneswar: Deputy Collector of Kalahandi Chittaranjan Pilla was suspended by the Odisha government for his alleged involvement in a land scam.
Sources said Pilla was placed under suspension with immediate effect as per the recommendation of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue department for his alleged involvement in illegal mutation of government land and leased lands during his tenure as Bhubaneswar Additional Tehsildar between 2020-2022
There were allegations against him over government land mutation, changing of the agricultural plots into ‘ghara bari’ (homestead) plots. He had allegedly reopened the cases and mutated them.
The official is also reported to be under the scanner of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch in connection with alleged irregularities.
