Bhubaneswar: To boost tourist footfall to the state, the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) on Thursday launched Destination Wedding Package.
In the first phase, the facility will be made available in six Panthanivas – Gopalpur, Konark, Puri, Chandipur and Badkul – at Rs 50,000 and it would include all rituals starting from ‘mehndi’ to the ‘wedding’, OTDC Chairperson Sremayee Mishra told mediapersons here.
“Odisha abounds in water bodies, wildlife and forest and many of the Panthanivas are located in the midst of nature. Some tourists through emails had suggested that we come up with a complete wedding solution or destination wedding at these places. The OTDC accordingly has made arrangements for it,” she said.
People of the state as well as those from outside can avail this package to solemnize marriage of their children and relatives at the Panthanivas owned by the Corporation, she added.
Besides OTDC website, people can also book for the same through MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and Yatra.
On the recently-launched Western Odisha Package, she said that the OTDC with support from Odisha Tourism will provide one bus each for locals to visit places of tourist interest in Balangir and Kalahandi.
