Puri: In an unfortunate incident, a devotee died near Aruna Stambha in Puri Jagannath Temple on Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Kulamani Nayak, a resident of Jagatsinghpur district. Kulamani, who had come to the temple along with his family members, suddenly lost consciousness while offering his prayers. His family members found him dead.
Though the reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he died of excessive heat or heart attack.
In another case, a 75-year-old man identified as Ajay Kumar Das of Kendrapara district had died near Kalpabata, inside the 12th century shrine, on May 8th when he had come to the temple with his family.
