Puri: A devotee reportedly died of heart attack inside Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri on Sunday.
According to sources, the devotee had darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra in the main temple in the afternoon. While moving on the premises of the 12th century shrine, he fell unconscious in front of the Biswanath temple.
The officials of the temple administration rushed him to the district headquarters hospital. But the doctors in the hospital declared him brought dead. The cause of the death was suspected to be cardiac failure, they said.
While the identity of the devotee has not been ascertained, the police have seized the body and started investigation.
After conforming his identity, the family would be informed, the police said adding that the body would be handed over after the post-mortem.
