Devotees Throng Brahmagiri For Darshan Of Lord Alarnath

Puri: With the sibling deities retiring to ‘Anasar Ghara’ of the Jagannath temple on Thursday, the devotees made way to Brahmagiri, about 35 km from here, for the darshan of Lord Alarnath.

According to mythology, during the 15-day Anasar period of the deities, Lord Alarnath give darshan to the devotees as Lord Vishnu.

On Friday, the rituals of Lord Alarnath began at 4.30 am. Devotees were allowed darshan at 7 am after the servitors performed the Besha, Chandan Tulasi Lagi and Gopala Ballav rituals.

The Sakala Dhupa ritual of the Lord was performed at 12 pm. The Madhyanna Dhupa is scheduled for 1 pm after which the temple will be closed for the Pahuda (rest) of the Lord.

The darshan of the Lord would again begin at 2 pm.

The Sandhya Alati would be performed at 7 pm. This will be followed by Mailam (7.30 pm) and Sandhya Dhupa rituals (11 pm).

The temple will be shut after the Badasimhara Besha of the Lord.

“The above rituals of Lord Alarnath will continue for 15 days,” said a temple servitor.

For smooth darshan of the Lord, the district administration has elaborate arrangements.
