Nayagarh: The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) has suspended two forest department officials, posted at Pancharida range in Nayagarh district, on allegations of negligence of duty on Friday.
The suspended officials have been identified as forester Kailash Pradhan and forest guard Biswajit Samantara.
Notably, carcass of an eight-year-old tusker with its tusks missing was recovered from a forest in Pancharida area on Tuesday. Following this incident, the two officials have been suspended.
The exact cause behind the death of the elephant is yet to be ascertained.
