Bhubaneswar: In a strict directive to the airports, the Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked the authorities to fine air passengers not adhering to the COVID-19 protocols. The order has been issued in view of the rise in cases of violations like not wearing of masks by passengers and social distancing.
The DGCA, in a circular, stated that it is also considering punitive action in serious cases of COVID-19 guidelines violation.
The punishment could include huge fine amount on the spot so as to serve a deterrent for violation of Covid-19 protocol, the circular stated.
Wearing of face masks properly, covering nose and mouth, as well as maintaining social distancing norms within airport premises have to be strictly followed, the DGCA mentioned.
