The DGP had earlier written to all SPs, DCPs, SRP Rourkela and Cuttack to conduct special drive between October 9 and October 18 against criminals and anti-socials.

He appreciated the effort of district SPs and DCPs for smooth conduct of Ganesh Puja and the immersion ceremony. “There were some incidents and provocative acts in the past which led to law and order situation. District SPs should be very careful for this and act in advance to prevent such incidents,” he added.

The DGP further asked them to put strict conditions while granting licence for ‘Medhas’ and immersion procession. All immersions should be held on a single day and adequate police arrangement made for the purpose, he added.

He instructed to impose restriction on loud speakers. The sound limit must not cross 65 decibel limit, he added.
