Berhampur: To tackle growing number of cyber crimes effectively, a new cyber police station was opened at Berhampur in Ganjam district on Sunday.
Inaugurating the police station, Director General of Police Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma said, “There has been a sharp rise in cyber crimes in the state. The new police station will register and investigate cyber crime cases, besides undertaking steps for its detection.”
It has been decided to set up four more cyber police stations in the state soon to face the emerging challenges pertaining to online fraud, Sharma added.
Senior police officers were present on the occasion.
