Bhubaneswar: DGP Abhay accompanied by senior officers of Odisha Police visited Jodambo and Hantalguda areas of Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district on Saturday. He is the first DGP to visit the area.
The DGP made the Jodambo police station functional from the panchayat office and laid the foundation stone of its new building. He also interacted with the senior officers and troops of BSF, IR Battalion present at company operating bases (COBs) of Hantalguda and Darlabeda at Malkangiri.
Reviewing the developmental activities in the area, initiated after the opening of the Gurupriya Bridge, he said after plugging the security vacuum, the developmental activities have been expedited in Swabhiman Anchal.
Jodambo police station will provide services to the people of five panchayats of the area including Jantri, Andrapalli, Panasput, Jodambo and Gajalmamudi. It will facilitate effective operation against Left Wing Extremists (LWE) in the area and help instill a sense of safety and security among the people of the area.
With the functioning of the police station, the Government has covered two-thirds of Swabhiman Anchal.
