Puri: A review meeting on security arrangements for Rath Yatra was held in Puri on Thursday.
Chairing the meeting, Director General of Police (DGP) K B Singh said tight security arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.
Highlighting that the security arrangements have been divided into five segments, he said, “While IG Sanjib Panda has been given the responsibility of traffic, IG Asit Panigrahi will be in charge of crowd management. Similarly, ADG Satyajit Mohanty and IG Diptesh Kumar Pattanik have been asked to look after the chariot cordons. IG Soumendra Priyadarshi will be on temple duty and ADG Binayananda Jha will take care of overall security arrangements.”
The meeting was attended by senior police officers of different ranks.
