Malkangiri: Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma reviewed security situation in the cut-off areas of Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Thursday.
The DGP, accompanied by Additional DG (Operation) Border Security Force (BSF) Arun Kumar; Director, Intelligence, Sunil Roy, IGP (Operations) R P Koche, IGP Odisha Frontier BSF AK Singh, DIG South-Western Range, Koraput S Shyni and Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena, went to the Anti-Naxalite Picket Post (ANPP) at Jodamba in the cut-off area of Chitrakonda Block and had a meeting.
At the meeting, the DGP laid emphasis on proper coordination between the state and central forces to combat left wing extremism (LWE) in the district.
The officers discussed the prevailing LWE situation and action of the security forces.
The discussions focused on the strategic and tactical deployment and redeployment of the forces in the cut-off and bordering areas.
They also deliberated on the problems faced by the security forces in matters of road connectivity, communication, logistics and means to overcome the difficulties.
During their visit, the officers also interacted with other senior officers and security forces deployed at Jodambo ANPP.
