Dhamnagar Bypoll in Odisha: BJP Continues Lead Over BJD After Round 12

Bhadrak: BJP candidate Suryabanshi Suraj has strengthened his lead further by 6,214 votes after the 12th round of counting of votes for bypoll to Dhamnagar Assembly Constituency in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

While Suraj has secured 54,572 votes, his closest rival and BJD’s Abanti Das 48,358. Congress nominee Baba Harekrushna Sethi managed to garner 2,200 votes while 6,505 have been polled in favour of Independent candidate and former MLA Rajendra Das.

The exercise began with postal votes at the Sanskriti Bhavan here around 8 pm. The results will be declared after 18 rounds of counting.

At least 68.98 per cent of  2,38,417 voters had cast their votes in 252 booths on November 3.
