Bargarh: Demon King Kansa directed the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sambalpur, Vineet Singh, to run direct trains between Delhi/ Puri and Mathura Nagari (Bargarh) on the third day of the 11-day Dhanu Yatra festival on Thursday here.
Odisha Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Minister Rita Sahu and Vineet Singh attended the Kansa Darbar as his guests.
Thursday also witnessed the birth of Lord Krishna in King Kansa’s prison cell in Mathura to parents, Queen Devaki and King Vasudeva.
Hrusikesh Bhoi, who portrays King Kansa in the play, said, “I rushed to the dungeons to kill the eighth child just like I killed the seven but the child was a girl and not a boy as predicted. The Bijuli Kanya flew into the sky and turned out to be Goddess Durga.”
