Dhanush & Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth Are Officially Divorced Now

Chennai: Actor-filmmaker Dhanush, who has been making headlines for his professional feud with Nayanthara of late, has a troubled personal life too.

Dhanush and his wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth had announced their separation in 2022. After three hearings, the Chennai Family Welfare court finally granted them divorce on November 27, reported Sun TV and News 18.

For the first time since announcing their separation, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth had attended a hearing at the family court in Chennai on November 21. They were seen wearing masks as they appeared in the court to express their intention to go separate ways.

The judge, hearing their divorce proceedings, had posted the next hearing on November 27, when the final verdict was likely to be pronounced, according to Hindustan Times.

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa got married in 2004 and are parents to two sons, Linga and Yatra. After announcing their separation, the couple has been co-parenting their sons.

On January 17, 2022, Dhanush had announced their separation on X. He wrote, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment, and adaptation. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate.”

His wife Aishwaryaa too shared a similar message.

On professional front, Dhanush has sued Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Sivan for using a 3-second video clip from ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ in their Netflix documentary “Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.”
