Chennai: Dhanush and his father Kasthoori Raja have sent a legal notice to a Madurai-based couple who has been claiming that the South superstar is their biological son.
In a case that has been going on for years, Kathiresan and Meenakshi said that the actor was their third son who had run away from home to enter films. They also sought maintenance of Rs 65,000 from him.
Dhanush, who sent the notice through their lawyer Haja Mohideen Gisthi, asked the couple to stop making “specious” claims regarding the actor and asked them apologize for false claims, reported ANI.
“My clients hereby call upon you both to desist from making false, untenable and defamatory allegations against them henceforth. Failing compliance my clients will be constrained to approach the competent Courts to protect their rights in this regard and to prevent you from carrying on and making such false, untenable and defamatory allegations against them and you both will also be prosecuted for causing defamation and consequent loss of their reputation,” the stated.
Dhanush and his father asked the couple to issue a press statement saying that the allegations made by them are false and apologize.
In case they don’t do that, Dhanush will file a defamation suit of Rs 10 crore.
